Helpful Hints For Researchers
The staff at Llano welcomes those who come to the cemetery in search of information about relatives.
Names and burial locations of the nearly 50,000 persons interred at Llano are maintained on computer and in a large computer printout kept in the cemetery office.
It is our desire to help you find the information you are seeking, but our first priority is to assist those coming to our office in a time of need.
Those who wish to use the printout are welcome to do so.
If you wish to have a member of the office staff assist you, here are a few suggestions to make the job easier for you and the office staff.
-
If you wish to locate information about more than one person, please make your request in a written form, including:
-
First and last name of each person,
-
Approximate date of death,
-
Further information such as Jr., Sr., III, or infant.
-
Avoid nicknames. Burial records most often use proper names.
-
Requests may be made in person, by mail to P.O. Box 563, Amarillo, TX 79105, by fax to (806) 376-6541, or by e-mail on our website at www.llanocemetery.org.
-
Please be patient. We will attempt to locate the information as soon as possible, but in some instances it may take up to one week.
-
We will provide the burial location, as well as a map to find the grave.
-
We do not charge for our services, as do some cemeteries, but donations are appreciated.
